One of the five communities located on Bogue Banks, a 21-mile barrier island on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.
The island runs east to west, with the beaches facing due south.

A 26-mile long barrier island just south of the Bogue Banks and the Outer Banks. It contains the communities of North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach.
